I'll never forget when Nadia Kinney first reached out to me about helping her with the purchase of a Denver area home. It was 2014, and Nadia's husband John had been assigned to a project helping with the RTD light rail expansion in Denver. They needed to sell their home in Pasadena, find and purchase a home in Denver, and bring on a trusted advisor to help with the Denver half of the equation...from halfway across the country.
I happened to already have an upcoming trip booked to Los Angeles to visit my grandmother, so, instead of doing our initial meeting over the phone, I asked if I could come meet her in person in Pasadena. I was delighted that she agreed, so while I was there I rented a car, drove from Santa Monica to Pasadena, and we had a wonderful initial meeting to get to know each other and discuss her search. A month and a half later, she and John were under contract on a fantastic Denver home, and they've lived in that home ever since!
So much has happened since then--my grandmother passed away, jobs have changed, their daughter Cadence has grown into an amazingly confident, smart, and beautiful young woman, my wife and I had three kids ourselves, our team has grown, and much more. Yet it still feels like yesterday that we were sitting in that coffee shop in Pasadena--and every time I see Nadia, John, and Cadence, we pick up right where we left off.
Does our team love negotiating deals? Yes. Do we love getting our clients the best terms possible? 100%. But what makes our jobs truly rewarding are the deep relationships we develop with our clients while working through what often are the most significant financial transactions of their lifetimes.
So, thanks to the Kinneys and to ALL of our clients for each and every opportunity that we have to be a part of your lives--both during your transactions and in the years that follow. You each are why we do what we do!
