Washington Park, known affectionately as "Wash Park" by locals, is one of Denver’s landmark neighborhoods that surrounds its namesake park. Although construction on the park began in 1899, the development and growth of the neighborhood spanned over the course of 50 years. Initially fueled by the founding of the University of Denver and the arrival of streetcar lines, growth continued in lockstep with residents’ desire to escape downtown. Wash Park became the epicenter of the more recent Denver renaissance around 25 years ago, resulting in the restoration and renovation of many beloved historic homes in the neighborhood.  

What To Expect

Washington Park consists of two distinct neighborhoods: Wash Park East (more commonly known as Wash Park) and Wash Park West.
